Dylan Thomas Club

BC in Ukraine offered us to participate in the contest GREAT/ We've chosen the rubric Heritage is Great and have prepared an entry to cover a relevant aspect of British culture. We can't make the better choice than to tell about Dylan Thomas fan Club which was founded in 1994 in our school with the support of the Rivne-Swansy cultural public society "Wales, Look East!"

 Thanks to Dylan Thomas Centre in Swansea, Wales and its official website  the students this year had a virtual tour to a permanent exhibition on Dylan Thomas and his life.  One of the visitors, Olena Lakodey wrote that the first thing that came to her mind after exploring this web page was that similar recourses should have been suggested to the readers in Ukraine who would love to know more about Ukrainian literary heritage. In spite of the fact that much is being done, it's far from enough.

My visit to Swansea, Wales made my dream happen- I visited several events of the Dylan Thomas  Festival which brought me back to my childhood and the years when poetry was honoured so much among my friends.
